AGAPANTHUS (African Lily)

AGAPANTHUS (African Lily)

AGAPANTHUS (African Lily)

Sometimes called the Nile Lily or African lily these increasingly popular plants originate in South Africa. They are easy to grow in pots or border. All flower best when the clumps become mature. Feed in spring with Tomorite. They produce a clump of narrow strap like leaves. The blue or white flowers are carried in a congested head on the top of a naked stem. They vary in height from 6" to 5 feet.

Most Deciduous (D) varieties are hardy in all but the coldest districts and can be grown in the open garden.Grow in full sun in well drained soil. Newly planted Agapanthus benefit from a winter mulch of leaves. Although they may be tall thier leaves are short and they are best planted at the front of a sunny border.
Evergreen (E) ones are best grown in pots which must be kept frost free.

We send these in the winter as dormant plants, not plugs.

As these are all lifted from our own field we can supply extra large plants if required. Please call for a quote.
