PRIMULA 'JOHN FIELDING'

This rare early flowering primrose is a cross between a N Turkish species - P megasifolia ( which we collected in the 1980s). It grows well here under a large magnolia where it starts flowering in November. Clusters of rich purple flowers on short stems above distinct lobed leaves. Divide regularly.

Award of Garden MeritWhite Greek primrose. The parent of our dramatic introduction that was first collected in Greece many years ago. It superb offspring has proved itself a magnificent garden plant. The pure white flowers completely swamp the plants. Early flowering, often well before Christmas.Sterlie so it needs to be divided. It was given its well deserved AGM in February 2016

Award of Garden MeritThe common primrose. This British native wild flower needs little introduction but is a must for any spring garden. It is perfect on dry banks or in shade. Will brighten a dark corner and flower all spring. A perfect foil for small blue bulbs like scilla. It will seed aroound under trees and shrubs. This is the true plant with pale yellow flowers.
