These striking plants are natives of the Mediterranean area.  They have clusters of narrow grey leaves and tall spikes of deep yellow flowers. Long lasting and easily grown in any sunny position in well drained soil.

Plant List

ASPHODELINE LIBURNICA

Slender spikes covered in starry  lemon yellow flowers above feathery, basal leaves. Christopher Llyoyd gave me the original plants from Great Dixter. Easy in any soil in full sun. I mix it with grasses and other feathery plants. It really deserves to be more widely grown. Trouble free, gently forming larger clumps.

Unusual in that the flowers open irregularly over the whole spike, giving a prolonged flowering period. The seed heads are an attractive extra. Easily grown in any well drained soil in full sun. It mixes well with other sun lovers like alliums and grasses.
