It is a very vigorous early flowering clone with the typical grey leaves and a single horseshoe-shaped marked flower. It is often in flower in November, usually just before Athenae. Plant the bulbs in small clumps 8cm deep in a humus rich soil in part shade. Divide the clumps after flowering.

GALANTHUS ATHENAE
We have grown this early flowering snowdrop for more than 40 years. Although the flowers are not large it makes good sized clumps. With us it starts flowering at the end of November and continues right through to Christmas. In many years it coincides with the last of the sternbergia which grow in the same position under our large chestnut tree. Remarkably upright, almost as though it is standing to attention.

GALANTHUS ATKINSII
One of the best snowdrops of all with tall, stately flowers and an amzing rate of increase. Narrow grey-green leaves like G.nivalis. It is now all over our garden, under shrubs and even around the roses! It is also very early, flowering at the beginning of January. Plant small groups in any good humus rich soil in part shade. Lift and divide the clumps after flowering.

GALANTHUS BLEWBURY TART
Although this is not exactly the most beautiful snowdrop it is rather a curiosity or collectors item. The very uneven double flowers are almost completely green. It makes up for its small stauture by its rapid increase.

GALANTHUS BRENDA TROYLE
This is a very attractive, fragrant snowdrop. The large outer segments are rounded and blunt, while the inner ones are heart-shaped and deeply marked.
