White Cemetery Iris. Bearded iris species.  This is one of the oldest iris  in cultivation. It originated in Saudi Arabia but has spread throughout the Middle East. Large white flowers on short stems. It is easy in a dry sunny position. Sterile. Plant the rhizomes at the surface with the roots going down.

IRIS BILIOTTII

 Species bearded iris  This is a tall  bearded iris from eastern Turkey where it is found in graveyards. It has pale blue purple standards and deeper falls. An elegant iris rarely seen in our gardens. Sterile.  .We have grown it here for nearly 30 years. Flowers best after a dry summer.

Species bearded iris (Orris Root) This flag iris was grown near Florence for the perfume industry. White or somtimes very pale blue flowers with darker veining and typical fans of grey leaves. IRIS NEW IDEA

Miniature Tall Bearded Iris. One of the new race of bearded iris. Although only 14" tall it has up to 4 perfect miniature flowers scattered up the stem. A gentle mix of purple shades. IRIS PALLIDA

Species iris.  This is one of the ancestors of all our spectacular modern bearded iris but sometimes the simplest flowers are still the best. Beautiful  pure sky blue flowers above glaucous foliage. Stunning in the heb garden at Hatfield House.

IRIS SURPRISE

Intermediate bearded Iris A showy intermediate bearded iris with large heads of beautifully ruffled flowers. The falls are pale lemon and the standards a creamy white.
