CYCLAMEN HEDERIFOLIUM (neapolitanum)

(C.neapolitanum) The mainstay for autumn-flowering and a most rewarding plant. Finely marked variegated leaves with a mass of pink flowers. The flowers appear before the leaves and are almost a bonus. It is one of the best winter foliage plants, tolerating dry shade and spreading in time to form impressive patches. Makes huge tubers in time but do not allow them to be visible above the soil. Mulch in summer with leafmould or composted bark to encourage seedlings. Plant 3cm deep in humus rich soil.
