DIERAMA PERKY

Wand Flower. Angels Fishing rod. For some years we have been building up stocks of our own selected hybrids and now have enough to sell  this unusal wand flower.  Unlike the others this has open, outward facing flowers of deep salmon pink with a dark maroon eye - it really looks at you!  Medium height plants that flower in mid summer. 

Dieramas come from the mountains of South Africa and live up to their common names with clusters of bell shaped flowers hanging from arching flower stems that rise from a basal cluster of narrow evergreen leaves. They are in fact corms and althoough they like plenty of moisture they must not stand in water or they will rot. Above a pond is fine or over a path but not beside a pond where they will get wet.
