Award of Garden MeritA dramatic new hybrid with with exceptionally large flowers of the palest lemon. They are produced in profusion on sturdy plants so the flowers virtually smother it.  AGM

The hardy ginger relatives from the Himalayas are trouble free tuberous rooted perennials  flowering throughout the summer with clusters  of strange hooded flowers reminiscent of orchids.  The broad leaves are stem clasping and topped by a fat bud from which a mass of flowers open over a period of weeks. They require a cool, humus-rich soil and are lime tolerant. They are best planted deeply and mulched in winter in cold districts. Well established clumps flower best.
